I already know how to ride a bike. Why should I sign up for one of your courses?
Whether you ride your bicycle for recreation, transportation or both, our courses will provide you with the skills and knowledge to ride your bike safely and confidently on streets and paths. Even the most experienced cyclists learn useful information and skills at our classes. Some of the various topics discussed are here.

Where exactly are the classes?
All classes are held at the offices of West Yost Associates, a local engineering firm (and Chris' gracious employer). West Yost Associates is across Lead Hill from the Roseville Auto Mall. West Yost provides us with a classroom setting for presentations, discussions and demonstrations and has a large parking lot for skills practice and is a great starting point for the many on-street routes we use in Road Skills II.

What do I need to bring?
For Road Skills I, just bring yourself and your bicycle helmet if you have one.

For Road Skills II, please bring:

  - a bike that is functional, with all parts (especially brakes) in working order. Visit one of the great local bike shops if your bike needs a tune-up or repairs.
  - a properly fitted, undamaged helmet
  - the bike should also meet the California Vehicle Code Requirements (let me know if you need a translation into plain English...)
  - comfortable clothing for riding - dress according to the weather (long sleeve for cold morning? Windbreaker? Rain jacket?)
You don't need to dress up like Lance Armstrong - just pants or shorts that are comfortable enough to ride. We will do some drills and on-road riding, but chances are we will cover substantially less than a Tour stage.

How do I sign up?
Send email to us stating your interest in taking the class.

If you are taking Road Skills II, you should download the Registration form, fill it out and bring it with you to class.
